Lisa Farnell’s team have today secured their third win in the B-division with an 8-5 victory over Belarus. The England women came out strong after the half time break and scored a game-changing 5 points. They closed the game out in 9 ends.
Farnell’s team of Sydney Boyd, Kitty Conlin and Niamh Fenton also defeated Lithuania (6-3) and Slovakia (10-8) yesterday in a two-win day, putting them at the top of the table.
Coach, Jamie Farnell, said: “The team is off to a good start. They’re having fun, they like the ice conditions and the sweepers are very effective, which is key to shot making. It’s a long week and we know lots of tough opponents are left, so we’re working to continue to place our rocks with precision.”
Tomorrow, the team will play Spain and Hungary in a two-game day.
