The England Junior Women’s curling team will be participating in the World Junior Women’s Curling Championship in Tallinn, Estonia between February 28th and March 8th. This is the first time that England has been represented at these Championships since they began in 1988.
The team are all based in Kent where they learned to play the sport at Fenton’s Rink, near Tunbridge Wells, which is currently the only dedicated curling rink in England.
The team led by Hetty Garnier (19) from Iden Green qualified by winning the European Junior Challenge in Prague in January, defeating Turkey in the final. The rest of the team are Naomi Robinson (20) from Hawkhurst, Angharad Ward (19) from Paddock Wood, Lucy Sparks (18) from Horsmonden and Niamh Fenton (17) from Hever.

The team’s opponents in Tallinn will be from Canada (holders), Czech Republic, Estonia, Korea, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA.
